1. Is there a fee to speak with Dr. Evans for a consultation? No, there is no charge for an initial consultation.
2. Is the retainer fee refundable? The retainer fee is non-refundable.
3. Will Dr. Evans speak to my attorney? Yes, Dr. Evans is happy to speak with your attorney to assess how his expertise can be beneficial for your custody matter. There is no charge for an initial consultation.
4. Does Dr. Evans speak to the children and/or other parties involved? No. Dr. Evans completes a forensic file review of the documentation in the matter. Once he is retained for a forensic file review testimony, the client will complete and upload a Baker Model for Identifying Parental Alienation worksheet and supporting documentation to our portal for his review. Documentation includes text and email messages, video files, audio files, documents and other pertinent information.
5. How do I retain Dr. Evans for my parental alienation custody matter? To retain Dr. Evans, we recommend a consultation between him and your attorney (or you if you are pro se) to determine how his expertise will benefit your matter. Next, you will be asked to sign an Expert Testimony Agreement and pay the retainer. Once he is retained, you will be asked to complete the Baker Model for Identifying Parental Alienation worksheet and submit with accompanying documentation. He will review the information and complete an Expert Disclosure Statement and then testify at your trial.
6. Does Dr. Evans travel to other states? While Dr. Evans will travel, it is more cost effective for him to testify via Zoom or other online platform.
7. What is the typical amount I should expect to pay for Dr. Evans’ services? While this question is asked often, it depends on the case, amount of documentation and time spent reviewing, how much time is spent at trial, etc. He does charge $400 per hour for his services.
8. Why do I need to complete the Baker Model for Identifying Parental Worksheet? Can’t Dr. Evans just look at all of the documents I submit to him? In a Forensic File Review, Dr. Evans asks each client to complete the worksheet so that all of the information is organized and correlates to the appropriate category on the document. This document is included in his Expert Disclosure Statement.
