In these workshops you will learn
How to conduct a child custody/shared parenting evaluation that objectively presents information to the court system and is in the best interests of the child(ren) involved. The recommendations contained in custody evaluations can be very influential in family law cases. Make certain your evaluations meet professional guidelines and practice standards, using scientific methods, empirical research support, and psychological relevance. This workshop addresses the requirements for evaluations to meet current legal standards of admissibility. You will also learn more about Parent Alienation Syndrome and how to determine if your clients are being affected, the history of PA, symptoms of PA, the levels of severity, children’s underlying psychodynamics and specific behaviors in alienating parents as well as new information in the DSM-5 that you need to know, and how to advise your clients whether they’re the perpetrator or the victim.
